"At STH, we understand that you may have questions about our services. We are here to provide expert care tailored to your unique needs. Whether you're curious about our treatment approaches, scheduling appointments, or the benefits of physiotherapy, we've compiled a comprehensive list of frequently asked questions to address your concerns. Feel free to explore the information provided, and if you have any additional inquiries, our dedicated team is just a message or call away.

  • Where are you located ?
We are based at the Johan J Ferreira High Performance Centre on the Paul Roos Gymnasium school grounds. Once you have passed through the security booms of the school entrance we can be found in the far-left corner. Here you can find our private consultation rooms with access to the gymnasium.
  • What is your business hours?
We are open on Monday to Fridays from 08:00 to 18:00. On Saturdays, Sundays and Public holidays we are closed.
  • How do I make an appointment ?
You can either phone our admin manager or send a WhatsApp to one of our therapists and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Contact details can be found on our "Contact Us" tab.
  • Are you affiliated to medical aid ?
We are affiliated with most medical aids, but unfortunately not all as there is a very large network of medical aids. You are welcome to phone ahead and ask if we are affiliated or otherwise, we can register with the medical aid if arranged long enough before the scheduled appointment.
  • Do you submit medical aid on my behalf ?
We make use of ICD-10 codes to facilitate as much reimbursement from medical aid as possible, but it remains your responsibility to submit a claim to your medical aid. We are a private practice and you are expected to settle your account after every two sessions.
  • What are your payment options ?
We have card facilities available and we accept secure online payments as well as cash.
  • Do I need a Drs referral ?
Physiotherapists are first line practitioners therefore you will not need a doctor’s referral. If we are seeing you post-surgery for treatment and rehabilitation a referral would be helpful including what procedure was done and any x-rays, MRI- or CT scan reports. We also work closely with different specialists, GPs and other allied health professionals in order to make the most appropriate referral when needed.
  • Are you only for the school or out patients as well ?
We are a private practice and therefore service the public for out-patient visits as well. Home visits can also be arranged if within 5km of the practice.
  • What does a session entail ?
With an initial assessment a subjective history will be gathered through questioning applicable to make a diagnosis. After the subjective assessment a thorough, objective assessment will be done through testing in order to establish a diagnosis. Treatment will then be done accordingly whereafter self-management or rehabilitation will conclude the appointment. In some cases, follow-ups are needed and will be discussed between you and the physiotherapist.
  • How long will my session be ?
Initial appointments are scheduled for 1 hour and follow-up appointments for 45min. Please note that a medical file and consent forms need to be filled out before your first appointment so please arrive 10 minutes early in order to do so.
